Yo, this is the elusive, and often thought extinct, Taren. Now I realize that it’s probably a little too early for another long journal, me with all my procrastinating tendencies and all around mediocre laziness, but I'm like a surprise party: all cheers and alcohol, no life expectancy. Regardless, I just feel like it. Life is… good. Summer is here, although I rue NOT going to a year round school—stupid American schools –grumble—but we get what we get and then burn it. Right?

For the past… awhile I’ve been down in the Yucatan ( specifically Chichén Itzá ) building a concrete roof for a church. It was hard but rewarding and I found that I loved the culture down there. Plus on our “fun day” we got to go to a Mayan Ruin and hang out, then went on a bike ride through the jungle, and topped it off by swimming in a cenote, a sinkhole pool of water where Virgin Sacrifices were preformed, which was more than amazing and oh so refreshing after all the work we did.

Aside from that I’ve just been bopping around visiting friends and going to social events. –shrugs- Summer, although not always my cup of tea, is fairly ok. Going to Carlsbad soon and that should also be fun. Hah. At the moment no scanner but I’m working on that.

So after all this turned out not to be so long but, as my good friends are aware, hyperbole is something I swear by.
